About Treasured Birth
I grew up in Prior Lake, Minnesota, and graduated in 1983. In 2009, I earned an Associate of Liberal Arts Degree from Normandale Community College, in Bloomington, Minnesota. I then transferred to the University of Minnesota to study a Bachelors of Science in Family Social Science, with minors in Maternal Child Health, Public Health, and Sociology. During my time there, I was honored to receive an award for Volunteerism in the Community Engagement Scholars program; working in and receiving specialized training as a battered woman’s telephone crisis line advocate, a volunteer Doula and Childbirth Educator for at-risk expecting mothers. It is my hope to continue volunteering and supporting families in their pursuit of equal healthcare provision. Additionally, Six years ago I completed my education as a Massage Therapist with a specialty in Prenatal and Postpartum Massage.
